Listening with Naked Ears

The body is always speaking. The practice is learning its language.

Intelligent Civilizations

We are intelligent civilizations composed of living, breathing intelligent beings. Trillions of cells – pulsating and communicating civilizations, each participating in a conversation far older than words.

We can ask our body questions and it will always respond in some way.

The response will not arrive in a man-made language that is easy to recognize with logic, but a language that we can learn to detect, dissect and comprehend over time. A language that reveals itself through the practice of listening with naked ears, empty of knowing.

The quality of our observation directly concocts outcome in every direction. Our observation literally simmers upon the observed, which means the way we listen changes what we hear. The way we ask changes what arrives.

Asking Questions

I’m interested in knowing the deepest origins of my fears, reactions and patterns, and one way I learn is by asking my body questions.

On my back or sitting, I go inside and ask. In the same way I would ask another human being about their origins –  I ask the pain, the pattern, the sensational expression what wisdom there is to be felt and extracted. Curiously and with open naked senses ready to absorb the response in whatever form it arrives.

My bodymind always answers. And it usually takes me on a journey closer, or directly to the source, the original imprint. A conversation greater than words could ever translate.

When we ask our brilliant bodyminds to reach beyond what is known – in search of potentials outside what has been done, that is no longer working – there is an immediate outreach of intelligence branching for the light of new ideas. We all have access to this space. The place from which great works are created.

Curiosity Over Certainty

If each one of us asked our private hearts to cast out a search, not for the perfect, logical answer, but for the next honest question to bring to our bodies – something will begin to shift.

So often there is pressure we put on ourselves to have everything figured out. To find the right answer as quickly as possible. This pressure melts us down and can harden our ability to access the spaces of possibility, and to listen with naked ears.

Triggers – those things in life that make us want to run, are calling us to look into the aspects that are not so easy to view like the sunset – so we can come to know all corners and possibilities and frequencies of this life until we can see truth through the illusions created by our fear-mind. Then we are free.

It can be so easy and automatic to forget that when we get triggered in any direction, by any situation, we have the choice as to how we observe the gifts life is gifting us through the expression of moment and the flavor of our experience. Our body will always know the right answer.

All the pressure we’re imposing on ourselves can be released by asking the questions without the need for an answer. Because your body will know what to do.

All it takes is curiosity, a genuine heart’s wonder. When one is connected to the deepest source of truth inside oneself, actions arise spontaneously and flow with greater ease.

Therefore, whatever challenges there are being experienced at this moment- allow yourself to dissolve the questions inward. And then listen – like you listen to someone you respect in the highest, with open naked perceptions into your wide open spaces. Little layer by little layer, see what messages arrive. Let it be an experiment, so the outcome can be completely comfortably unknown.

Little Layer by Little Layer

Our body has been listening to us long before we ever learned how to listen back, which is a wild thing to sit with. And if you start to learn the language of your body, you can eventually understand what it’s trying to say to you.

The conversation is always happening. We just have our ears turned the wrong way. I believe that the practice is simply remembering the language of our bodies –  curiously, with naked ears.

Ask any question, and see what happens. It’s all in there, woven into the trillions of cells of intelligence within you.

Let the question dissolve inward, for there will be a response. Perhaps not in the language of logic, but in the language of your body.

With so much love,

Meghan
