Learning to Change Without Forcing
I used to think change happened to us. That it arrives as a moment – one decision. A before and after, as if life reorganized itself the instant we made the right choice.
I believed if I could just see clearly enough, commit fully enough, then transformation would follow. That habits could be replaced the way furniture is rearranged. That growth was something to do.
For years, I tried to change myself by pushing harder, only to find my body pulling back. The harder I pushed, the more resistance I met. My body never responded to urgency. It responded to listening, and listening is slow.
The Mazes We Live Inside
There are scribbles of mazes that are the paths of our lives that only we can know because they are ours. They are complex and layered like the webs of fascia that connects every cell, organ, vessel and bone into one cohesive human.
Like the pulsating networks of feather-haired neurones that burrow deeper with each breath. Like snowflakes and fingerprints, impossibly unique, taking proof of the level of intelligence life is composed of, and continuously changed by.
Our bodies are not linear systems. They don’t respond well to abrupt instructions or rigid timelines. They are responsive, adaptive, remembering organisms. Every experience, every repetition, every coping strategy has been woven into us with care.
Change doesn’t happen to this maze. It happens through it.

What the Body Remembers
The intelligence of our body remembers everything. All of our life’s experiences, as well as our whole family and ancestral lineage.
Aspects of our subconscious patterning come out at different stages, in certain phases. Not because something has gone wrong, but because something is finally ready to be looked at.
When a layer rises to the surface, I imagine these to be like ancient Amazonian root systems. A network of intelligent pathways, all interconnected and intercommunicating.
When these ancient systems can be seen, it’s the most amazing gift of all. An opportunity like no other to witness the complex weavings of our subconscious making, individually and collectively. An opportunity to recalibrate. To re-structure. To course correct.
When the Ground Moves
When the roots rise, and we can see every twist and turn of our psyche exposed, it upturns everything we thought we knew. Literally uprooting the very earth we felt steady on. This is uncomfortable, and it is also necessary.
Because deep change doesn’t happen on the surface. It happens when the system reorganizes itself from the inside out. When what was once invisible becomes visible enough to work with.
There is rarely a single defining moment. More often, there is space. And within that space, the possibility of something new. It’s felt as a tiny shift in how you respond, a softening where there used to be urgency.
Attunement as the Path Forward
Attunement is the practice of listening closely enough to notice when the body is asking for something different.
It’s sensing when a habit no longer fits. When a pattern has completed its purpose. When the nervous system needs gentleness, not motivation.
Sustainable change happens in tiny adjustments that the system can actually absorb. Small enough to feel safe. Slow enough to be integrated.
This is how rewiring happens. Not by overriding the body’s intelligence, but by working with it.

It is rooted in the knowing that lasting transformation is relational. That habits shift when the system feels seen, not judged. That change unfolds when there is trust.
Rewired is a return to listening. To noticing and allowing change to emerge at the pace the body recognizes as safe.
Because the body already knows how to reorganize itself – it always has. We don’t need to push it into becoming something new. We need to become attuned enough to let it show us the way.
