On the slow, sneaky nature of change
The Shift You Don’t See Coming
Lately I’ve been feeling something inside me re-arrange itself. Not a grand reinvention or a perfectly “aligned” version of myself, but a steadier hum beneath everything I do. I have literally felt a change from the inside out. I changed into someone a little more able to embody, own and learn from the wide spectrum of feelings and experiences that come with being human.
This kind of inner adjustment arrives almost unnoticed. Like the way daybreak spills into night long before the sun actually rises. And though I’m still searching for the right words, I know it has something to do with commitment and how it feels on an energetic level to commit and follow through on something. It’s a yummy feeling that seems to generate inner strength, confidence and self trust. And the commitment doesn’t need to be perfectly executed, but with humility and the willingness to learn – which always involves falling down and getting back up.
The Myth of “Kaboom”
We often imagine transformation as a lightning strike, a sudden “kaboom” where everything dissolves into clarity and ease. But real change, the kind that lasts and roots into our bones, is rarely so dramatic.
Life moves in phases and cycles, each one eroding a different kind of sediment to the surface. Old patterns, dormant memories, unfinished stories. They rise up to be witnessed, learned from, and softened over time.
There is no magic button that makes it all peachy. However, there is the slow polishing that happens little by little, breath by breath, choice by choice. The becoming into someone more spacious, more attuned, more able to hold the spectrum of being human.

The Mundane Is Where the Magic Lives
We often underestimate the power of small things. Tiny shifts. Barely noticeable decisions.
The way we breathe when we’re frustrated. The way we speak to ourselves while washing dishes. The moment we choose to pause instead of rush.
Change doesn’t announce itself. It hides in the mundane. In the hundred ordinary moments that make up a day. These micro-decisions carve pathways in the nervous system, teaching the body what steadiness feels like. They build a sense of inner strength and self-trust far more sustainable than any dramatic overhaul.
And it’s sneaky. One day you realize you’re not reacting the way you used to. You’re softer where you’d normally tense. You’re braver in places you once collapsed. You feel yourself becoming a little shinier, without forcing or molding yourself into something you’re not. Just because you kept tending to the small things.
The Energetics of Commitment
There is a particular energetic frequency to commitment. The humble, human kind of commitment. The kind that expects mistakes. The kind that understands falling down and getting back up is part of the rhythm.
Each time we commit and follow through, even in the tiniest way, something inside us reorganizes – rewires. Confidence mostly doesn’t come from achieving something flawlessly; but rather from staying in relationship with the process.
This kind of commitment generates internal warmth, like an ember that grows stronger each time we tend to it. Over time, that ember becomes a source of resilience. A reminder that we can trust ourselves to return, to begin again, to keep going.
Becoming
Sustainable change isn’t loud. It doesn’t shout or sparkle at first glance. It unfolds in the spaces where no one is watching.
And maybe that’s the beauty of it. We don’t leap into new versions of ourselves; we lean. Softly. Consistently. With patience and humility.
Little by little, breath by breath, the small choices begin to shape us. And before we know it, something inside feels steadier. Brighter. More ours than it ever was before.
Loving YOU!
Meghan
